Join us for a special pre-screening of the broadcast version of the acclaimed A Gathering of Sons, on Tuesday 26 June at 7:00 pm.

A Gathering of Sons, with music by Dwayne Fulton to a libretto by Tameka Cage Conley, and directed by Mark Clayton Southers, premiered in June 2017 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. The opera takes us on a journey through the lives of a young Black man, a White police officer, parents of a newborn child, and a collection of spirits who watch over the world.

The work toured to a number of Pittsburgh venues, followed by performances in the Falk Auditorium at Winchester Thurston School, as part of Pittsburgh Festival Opera’s Music that Matters series. The final performance was filmed and will air on WQED-TV July 1st at 6:30 pm.

In celebration of this milestone achievement, we invite you to a special pre-screening of the acclaimed performance, to enjoy with friends, family, and colleagues.
