Pittsburgh Festival Opera offers diverse volunteer opportunities throughout the year, especially leading up to and during the Summer Season. Volunteers are integral to a smoothly run festival and enable us to meet its mission. We look for students and adults to assist in the office, on education and outreach programs, during dress rehearsals, performances, and throughout the year. And you’ll never be alone; Pittsburgh Festival Opera staff provide training and guidance for all volunteers, and volunteers receive complimentary admission to events.

Now seeking summer festival ushers

Night Caps

Ushers serve as the friendly face that greets opera-goers before performances, assisting with tickets, seating location, etc. If you have some evenings or afternoons free to help with this fun and essential job, we’ll show you the ropes and be grateful for your support. You'll get to see the show(s) for free and know you’re serving a vital function for Opera Theater.

If you have questions about ushering, please contact Kevin O'Hora, our Front of House Manager, via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or by calling the Pittsburgh Festival Opera office at 412-621-1499.
