On Tuesday 28 November, join thousands of your fellow Pittsburghers in supporting causes important to you, through Give Big Pittsburgh.

You can help us continue to break down the boundaries of the opera experience. Your donation allows us to focus on diversity in programming and casting, encouraging new talent, and broadening audiences through free outreach and education programs. Thanks to you, we are able to create a body of work that is entertaining and relevant, bringing together audiences and artists of all backgrounds to engage in experiences that inspire and enthrall.

Michele’s is just one of the lives changed by the Pittsburgh Festival Opera. She and countless others choose to work with us in our efforts to humanize, energize and re-define opera as an intimate experience that is relevant to the widest possible audience. Gone are the days of gilded halls and works written exclusively by dead men. Instead, patrons enter an intimate performance space where Handel can be programmed alongside the newly commissioned social justice jazz opera A Gathering of Sons. You can be a part of this innovative opera experience and a member of an audience that reflects the diversity of our community.

"Pittsburgh Festival Opera was truly a life-altering experience for me. Being a part of an organization that values the relevance of opera and the promotion of new works like "A Gathering of Sons" means so much to up-and-coming young artists like myself. Being a part of this piece not only challenged me but expanded my perception of what art can be, what opera can sound and feel like. Plus, it made me leave my comfort zone and move a thousand miles from home!"
Michele Renée Williams, Young Professional Artist, A Gathering of Sons (2017)
